DESCRIPTION:A 4-part series exploring the critical transition to adulthood of 16-20 year olds and how families can create a plan for the future. \nTransitioning to adulthood is one of the most important life transitions we experience. Youth ages 16-20 require support in navigating this critical time of life. This workshop offers parents the opportunity to acknowledge the fear of the unknown and move forward with the acknowledgement that together we will work to support the values of each individual and family as a community. This free four-part workshop series includes: \nLife Transitions – Understanding life transitions and the barriers to successfully transitioning to adulthood. \nValued Roles in Community – Exploring social roles and how to be valued as a respected member of the community. \nVisioning and Planning – Creating a plan for the future based on a vision supported by goals and strategies. \nNavigating the Systems – Understanding adult services and systems of support. \nAll four workshops must be taken consecutively.
