DESCRIPTION:MentorAbility Industry Information Session: Careers in the Environmental Industry with ECO Canada\nMentorAbility Alberta is offering ongoing FREE interactive Industry Information Sessions! These information sessions give participants the opportunity to learn more about prospective industries\, recruitment requirements and qualifications\, and the next steps they may need to take to achieve their employment goals. \n\nECO Canada is the steward for the Canadian environmental workforce across all industries. They champion the end-to-end career of an environmental professional. Their efforts promote and drive responsible\, sustainable\, economic growth to ensure that environmental care and best practice are a priority. ECO Canada are thought leaders in the environmental labour market and their research provides unmatched statistics with up-to-date\, relevant data and insights for policy\, business and educational purposes.\n\nAre you interested in working within the environmental sector? In this session\, Geni Peters and Maddie Aldridge are going to talk all about the environmental industry\, the roles and responsibilities within the industry and ECO Canada as well as how to get started with seeking a career in the industry.\n\nGeni Peters is Director of Research at ECO Canada\, a not-for-profit with a mission to ensure that Canada has the environmental workforce it needs in these challenging times. An economist with a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University\, she is responsible for the management\, execution and delivery of environmental labour market information and national occupational standards projects\, working with an army of professionals comprised of staff\, consultants\, strategic advisors and subject matter experts.\n\nMaddie Aldridge is a research professional at ECO Canada\, focusing on environmental labor market trends. Passionate about sustainability\, Maddie uses data-driven insights to develop reports that help policymakers\, industry leaders\, and educators navigate the evolving landscape of the environmental sector. With a strong background in both qualitative and quantitative analysis\, Maddie plays a key role in shaping the future of Canada’s green economy. DESCRIPTION:MentorAbility Industry Information Session: Careers in Neurorecovery with Bean Gill\nMentorAbility Alberta is offering ongoing FREE interactive Industry Information Sessions! These information sessions give participants the opportunity to learn more about prospective industries\, recruitment requirements and qualifications\, and the next steps they may need to take to achieve their employment goals. \n  \nBean Gill is an Inclusion Warrior\, Paralysis Recovery Pioneer\, and Change Maker who defies the odds. In 2012\, she faced a sudden spinal injury while on vacation\, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Determined not to succumb to despair\, Bean chose to persevere. Bean co-founded ReYu Paralysis Recovery Center\, an advocacy group called Wheels of Change\, stars in a docuseries called PUSH\, and is passionate about disability etiquette. \nPlease welcome the one and only\, Bean Gill. \nIn this session\, attendees can expect: \n– Learn about ReYu\, our origin\, our culture\, and our attitude towards ppl with disabilities \n– Brief rundown on our programs with a couple of before and after videos to show how effective our program is and that neurorecovery is REAL \n– A typical day at ReYu and what stands out about the members of our team \n– Steps to get into the field of neurorecovery \n– End with questions from the audience \n  \nThis event is offered to all MentorAbility participants – so if you are a job seeker who experiences disability-related barriers to employment or a supportive employment service provider who wants to learn more about the industry\, this event is for you! \nIf we can offer any accommodations during the event to make your participation easier or answer any questions you have about the event ahead of time\, please contact jamie@gatewayassociation.ca after you register to discuss. \nThis event will be recorded. \nRegister HERE
