HOW WE HELP

Gateway Support

JOB SEEKER SUPPORT

Job seekers receive one-on-one assistance to discover their interest fields, discover a place to work and find a job that fulfills them. Employees and employers receive ongoing support throughout the entire working relationship.

FAMILY SUPPORT

Gateway supports people with disabilities and their families and fosters more inclusive communities. Our supports and services are as unique as the people we serve. Each individual is unique in their needs. We can help.

DIGITAL LITERACY PROGRAM

Through our free online workshops, courses and social connections, you can learn basic digital skills to help you communicate and create online, increase employability and engage in the digital world.

EMPLOYER SUPPORT

In partnership with employers, Gateway develops meaningful, paid employment relationships that benefit both workers and employers. Our process involves thorough discovery with each job seeker, and full exploration with every potential employer.

DIGITAL COMMUNITY

The Gateway to Digital Inclusion (GTDI) App is designed to help people connect to the online world. Through our digital office, practice digital literacy skills, engage with supports and resources, participate in events and connect with one another. Learn more about our mobile app!

WORKSHOP CALENDARS

We offer workshops for families, job seekers, employers, and anyone interested in joining an inclusive community. Workshops cover topics such as transitioning to adulthood, as well as workshops specific to families and staff that use Family Managed Services (FMS). All workshops are free.

OUR IMPACT

Success Stories

“Gateway showed me that there are companies that actually care about your own well being, they want you to be able to meet your basic needs, they want to see you grow, they want to see you move up to be a supervisor or manager and be a valuable part of the company and not just a number!

What I thought Gateway was going to do was help me find just a job, and I’d just continue on that cycle of looking for new work when the current job no longer meets my needs. But they helped me realize that I don’t have to keep living that way. I learned what my values are and the value that I could bring to the workplace. I realized that I have all of these big goals and I have a lot of talents and skills that I wasn’t able to use in my past jobs.”

10TH ANNUAL

Mayor's Luncheon

The 10th Anniversary Mayor’s Luncheon will bring together Municipal Government leaders from across Alberta, as well as Business and Employment Inclusion Service Providers to engage, learn and explore collaborative strategies to fast-track EDI and create inclusive workplace cultures that includes Albertans with disabilities.

With workforce demographics shifting, and our workforce becoming more diverse, NOW is the time for workplaces to lean in and build their knowledge and capacity to create inclusive workplaces. At minimum 22% of the working-age population, disability is not an equity-deserving group that can be ignored. Workers with disabilities, and the publicly-funded service providers that support them, can have a profound impact on workplace EDI capacity and ‘coach’ more inclusive workplace cultures.

Gateway's Mayor’s Luncheon will provide an impactful, dynamic event that connects workplace leaders with employment inclusion thought, leaders and diverse talent pools to ignite a paradigm shift in how we approach talent attraction, inclusive recruitment and workforce development.

Futureproof your workplace - join us to build the knowledge, capacity and connections required to create inclusive workplace cultures and attract talent – while also improving employment outcomes for Albertans with disabilities.
